§ 11-8J. Disabled parking.

    Prohibition. No person shall stop, park or leave standing any vehicle in a parking stall or space designated for disabled persons, unless the vehicle displays either a distinguishing license plate or placard issued pursuant to Vehicle Code Section 5007 or Section 22511.55. This applies to both publicly and privately owned property where such spaces have been designated.

    Dismissal fee. Any person cited in violation of Section 11-8J(1) above who demonstrates to the satisfaction of the chief of police that he or she possessed a valid distinguishing license plate or placard issued pursuant to Vehicle Code Section 5007 or Section 22511.55 at the time of the citation may, at the discretion of the chief of police, be required to pay a dismissal fee established by city council resolution in lieu of any other applicable fine or fee.
