§ 11-8BB. Commercial truck tractors and trailers, prohibited parking.

  • (1)

    Truck tractors and trailers. A person shall not stop, park or leave standing any truck tractor, trailer, semitrailer or combination thereof weighing in excess of ten thousand (10,000) pounds upon any street or portion of any street, except with respect to trailers or semitrailers in the process of being loaded or unloaded.

    (2)

    Unattached trailers. A person shall not stop, park or leave standing any trailer or semitrailer upon any street or portion of any street that is not attached to a vehicle capable of moving the trailer or semitrailer in a normal manner upon public streets and highways, except with respect to trailers or semitrailers in the process of being loaded or unloaded.

    (3)

    "Truck tractor," as used in this section, shall mean the non-cargo carrying power unit that operates in combination with a trailer or semitrailer.

    (4)

    This section shall not be effective with respect to any city street until appropriate signs have been erected by the chief of police in accordance with the California Vehicle Code designating the street as a prohibited parking area for truck tractors, trailers and/or semitrailers.
